ANNOUNCES THE ANNUAL
PAST PRESIDENTS’ HERITAGE SCHOLARSHIP
For the 2010 - 2011 academic year.
Past President's Heritage Scholarship Announcement For the 2010 - 2011 academic year the Past President's Heritage Scholarship will be awarded by the Society to three outstanding high school students of Scottish descent who are entering his or her freshman year of college and who will be attending any four-year undergraduate college or university in the U.S. or Scotland.
Applicants must be a resident of: Baltimore City or County; or Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, or Howard County; or be sponsored by a member of the St. Andrew's Society of Baltimore, regardless of place of residence.
This one year scholarship in the amount of $1,000 (payable $500 per semester) to the first place winner, and $500 (payable $250 per semester) to the second and third place winners, will be awarded by the Society in June to students entering their freshman year who have demonstrated scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Currently, outstanding students are benefiting from prior Heritage Scholarship awards at four different colleges and universities throughout the country and in Scotland.
Competition for this scholarship involves the completion and timely submission by March 31st of a written Application, which can be downloaded from the Society website under Scholarship Information, a review by the Benevolence Committee of the Society (currently composed of five experienced Society members), and a telephone conference interview of the top three finalists with the Committee in late May or early June.
